These DPR crankshafts for VW Volkswagen are made in USA from original German cranks. Counter weights are added to a stock forged German crank, then eight doweled and balanced. All stroker cranks are then nitrated (heat treated) and shot peened. Stroker cranks require case and rod clearancing. DPR crankshafts have been race proven in the Volkswagen industry since 1972 and are still the preferred crank in any performance application. Most imported cranks come out of China. Some companies will tell you that the metal quality of a China crank is comparable to an original German forged crank but I would have to disagree. We have seen numerous problems with China cranks that are machine finished overseas. Dms crankshafts are sold outright with no exchange but a rebuildable standard crank core can be returned for a $40 rebate.
